As it turns out, everyone is a critic...

So I have now found out that even my sweet little Elizabeth can be self critical. She woke up this morning and was doubting her beautiful scrapbook work she created yesterday.
She thought long and hard as to what to do about her creation. She pondered some more...
She finally settled on adding some glitzy Dora stickers and also some did decide that she needed to journal.

Here is a close up of her work. Note her "remarks" about herself. LOL!

So there you have it. The final version of Elizabeth's first scrapbook creation. No face on her, but still cute none the less.

My Little Scrapper!!!

Today, Elizabeth so desperately wanted to "Play Mommy" as she kept telling me. I asked her what did she mean by this. She then said, "Scrappin'!" Well now! Here I was thinking we were going to be playing dolls and such, but this was a whole new idea. I certainly was game for this.
I first gave her the much coveted Dora paper that she has been wanting for eons. What a good Mommy to have this on hand for her! (he he!)

She also wanted to use some of those deco-edge scissors that we all know that we have stashed away somewhere....

She was a cutting pro!

We then used the infamous glue stick to glue everything down with. She methodically placed her cut-outs just so.

Add in a pic of herself and there you have it! Elizabeth's first LO at age 3! Not bad if I do say so myself. She did everything and would not let Mommy touch anything but the glue. I wouldn't have it any other way! :)

It was great fun to "Play Mommy" this way with her. We'll have to see if she likes this enough to continue. I certainly hope so!!

Hope you are having as great a day as we are!

I'll admit it...

I'll admit it. I'll finally tell you all....

I am not in love with the Cricut.

*ducks, hides, and covers face*

I had an Expressions and about 12 carts at my LSS, but hardly ever used the thing. It never moved me like I know it has for others. Sure, I made some signage for the store and what not, but to use it in my scrapping, not so much. I did a title here and there and an image or shape once in a while, but that's it.

When I closed my LSS in Feb. I held onto the machine thinking I would use it, take the time to get to know it, find some love for it. I haven't. It sits there, lonely, in it's box whimpering at me and begging for a new home.

I found it a new home! My dear friend, Anne, has been wanting an E (she has a baby bug) for a bit now. She was instrumental in helping me clear out my LSS in the week we closed it out. We've made a deal with each other. She's going to give this sad, sad machine a new home and in turn help me get a bit organized in my basement scrappy area. I so need the help!

So there you have it...
I'm not a Cricuteer or whatever you call yourself who is a Cricut addict.
I finally confessed and feel better for it! :)

Have a great weekend!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Everywhere I turn right now it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I am in a frenzy making my Mother her Christmas cards this year. I am honoring her sweet cat, Charlie, with the stamped image and am using Shimmerz to paint everything in. They are a labor of love and I hope that she enjoys using them!

Here is the prototype that I made at a crop on Saturday..

I have simplified the red scalloped part by only punching one side of the paper, but other than that, this is about what they will be! Each is individually hand-painted with the Shimmerz. Did I mention that I'm making over 40 of them for her?? I think I'm a bit crazy.., but what else do I have to do while I'm laid up with a bum ankle and leg?

Hope that today is a joyful one for you!

My Card for the Bethel Card Club Swap

When I had my LSS my friend Christy and I started a Card Swap group. The group creates a batch of cards with a certain theme for the month. After turning them in, Christy goes and sorts them out for everyone and each participant gets a card from everyone! It is a bunch of fun to see who creates what and the different interpretations are on the themes.

I took a hiatus from the Card Club for a while after closing down my LSS as I was simply overwhelmed and disorganized with life, my scrappy stuff, everything. I knew that I would not be a great participant and would become a "flaker." Not good. This month I re-joined the group! I'm glad to be back in the swing of things. It is fun to make the cards and will be fun to see what everyone makes.

For this month, September, we were to create with only black and white. Different, yes, but fun! Here is what I came up with

I love how this card turned out and I hope that the others in the group enjoy it as much as I do. I can see it being used a few different ways. Can you?

So this is some of my fun that I do each month. For October we are going to create Get Well or Sympathy cards. I already have a few ideas for that! Will show you next month...

Take care,

Been playing with that September Scrap for a Cure kit again!! :)

I'm still LOVING my Guest Designer kit from Scrap for a Cure! This kit has been so much fun to work with and so versatile for everything I have created with it.
Here is a layout I did of my two kiddos when they were sharing one of those sweet and innocent moments. You know, those times where you go awe and quickly snap a picture for posterity because you know that it is a fleeting moment that will not last.

I also decided to make a cute little Thanksgiving or Harvest card for someone special. I'm still trying to figure out who to send it to! I have a bunch of special people in my life who I should send it to.

Enjoy your day and remember to capture those moments that are special!
