A Tutorial for Creating an Altered Mini Notebook

I thought I would share with you how to create the Altered Mini Notebook I made with the February Kit from Scraptacular! You can also view this tutorial at the Scraptacular Forums.

Here it is:

So let's make one! It's quite easy!

You will need:

(2) 3″x4″ pcs. of chipboard for cover

(4) 3″x4″ pcs. of desired pattern paper - can be mixed up, all the same, 2 same for front and 2 different for interior, you decide! :)

(12+) 3″x4″ pcs white (or colored if you desire) cardstock for filler pages. Can use copy paper too, but will need to cut much more.

(2) 1″ binder rings

Ink in a color to go with pattern paper

Strong hold liquid adhesive (I used Zip Dry)

Crop-a-Dile

Rock Candy Crackle Paint, Mod Podge, or another sealant (to protect your exterior covers)

~Ribbon, embellishments, paper frill, Thickers, Smooch Ink, Glimmer Mist, etc. AS DESIRED!~

~~~~~~~~
1~ Ink edges of the chipboard covers.
2~ Adhere pattern paper to front and back of covers with liquid adhesive.
3~ Once adhesive has set, seal the front side only of the covers with desired sealant. I used the Rock Candy Crackle Paint. Set aside to dry.
4~ While that was drying, I cut my interior pages and “Smooch”ed my Thickers. By that I mean I painted my Thickers with Smooch to make them all shiny instead of plain white.
5~ Once my covers where dry and crackled from the Rock Candy, I gave the front cover only a spritz of Glimmer Mist…just because! Well actually it brought out the veins of the crackle a bit more.
6~ Embellish front cover as desired.
7~ Punch holes with Crop-a-dile for the binder rings where they will work best for you. Remember to punch the interior pages too!
8~ Assemble notebook.
9~ Tie on ribbons if desired.
10~ Enjoy!!
Remember that this little notebook is refillable! Yay! All you need to do is cut and punch some more pages for it once the ones you just made are used up. It's a great size for your purse too!
Hope you have fun with it!
